Manage Your House With LG's Thinq System

Imagine controlling your washing machine from a smartphone, like starting a wash cycle while you’re out partying. It certainly sounds futuristic. LG will be making it possible through their Thinq system that they will be showcasing at the CES 2011.

LG will be using Smart Grid Integration that has this “smart” meter that helps you to queue up various tasks like washing clothes when the electricity prices are off-peak hours. Some other washing machines will suggest the most energy-efficient cycles during peak hours.

It’s not just washing here, the system also helps set other home appliances like LG’s ovens or refrigerators with the proper cooking cycles or defrost time controls. Thus, you can optimize these appliances when the electricity consumption is not overloaded. You can even monitor your appliances' total use of electricity.

If that button doesn’t work or your appliance is simply not powering on, you can use LG’s Smart Diagnosis technology to troubleshoot your precious time saving equipment. Oh yes, you can also control them away from home. An expansion later will include connecting to a HOM-BOT robotic vacuum cleaner that doubles up as a spy camera that can monitor your empty home and send you live feeds!

Whoa, that’s some interesting technology that we have to get our hands on. A big change from run-of-the-mill tablets, mobiles and laptops.
