It seems to be quite surprising that there’s such a big difference between the prices of the Optimus 2X and the Optimus Black. The former does have an additional core in the processor, but there’s not much that distinguishes it from the Optimus Black. Let’s take a quick look at what the Optimus Black has to offer.
The Optimus Black is powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor and runs on Android 2.2 aka FroYo (which can be upgraded to Gingerbread). The smartphone has LG’s new display technology called the NOVA display which is encased in Gorilla Glass. LG has also loaded the Optimus UI 2.0 and the Gesture UI 2.0. The Optimus Black’s camera also has features like geo-tagging and there’s face and smile detection, as well. It can also record 720p videos at 30 fps. The smartphone has SNS integration and comes pre-loaded with the regular bunch of Google’s apps like YouTube, Picasa Google Talk, and more. The Optimus Black supports a pretty wide range of media formats with MP3, WAV and WMA for audio and XviD, DivX, H.264, H.263 and MP4 for video.
So that’s a whole lot that the Optimus Black can actually do and that’s why we’re a little skeptical about the pricing of the smartphone. If the price is this low, then this probably is the best option to go for. It can very well beat almost every other smartphone that comes under the 20K segment.
