About a month ago, we told about LG prepping the launch of another smartphone in their lineup. That has now come true today, what with LG officially unveiling the Optimus Big, a high-end smartphone with a 4.3-inch screen. The phone will be available starting tomorrow in South Korea.Size does matter

The Optimus Big has specs that aren’t all that different from the Optimus 2X or the Optimus 3D. Check them out:

  • 4.3-inch NOVA Display IPS panel capacitive touchscreen at 480x800
  • 1.2GHz dual-core processor
  • Google Android 2.2 FroYo, upgradable to 2.3 Gingerbread
  • 16GB internal storage, expandable via microSD slot (upto 32GB)
  • WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP + EDR
  • HDMI-out port
  • HSDPA, HSUPA and 3G
  • 5 megapixel camera with Autofocus and LED flash
  • 1080p video recording
  • micro-USB 2.0 port

The Optimus Big will release with Android 2.2 FroYo, but will be upgradable to 2.3 Gingerbread shortly after launch. Though the Korean release date is April 29, there’s no news on when the phone will be available across the globe – if it will be, that is. We certainly hope to hear more about the Big pretty soon.
