LG G Flex likely to reach international markets in December

Unlike Samsung's Galaxy Round, which is likely to be limited to the South Korean market, LG is believed to be working on an international version of the G Flex. It was earlier reported that the G Flex is expected to be available in the US, Japan and Europe. Now, a new report by UnwiredView reveals that the curved smartphone may reach several countries in December. The news has it that LG has sent out invitations for its special Flex event to be held in Hong Kong on December 3.

The company reportedly plans to start selling the G Flex in France and other European regions next month itself. Though the Flex may not be made available for customers in the US during the holiday season, it is expected to reach there by early 2014. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile are touted to be the potential carriers through which the curved smartphone will available in the US.

If this piece of news turns out to be true, then LG will be the first manufacturer to offer a smartphone with curved display commercially across the globe. For those not in the know, G Flex sports a 6-inch display curved display with 1280x720 pixel resolution. The design is vertical oriented as the phone is curved on the horizontal axis. According to LG, the design reduces the distance between the user’s mouth and microphone when the Flex is held against the ear.

It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It has 32GB onboard storage and packs in a 3,500mAh battery.
