Lenovo's LePad Tablet and IdeaPad U1 Hybrid Might Come to India Soon

Lenovo did bring their LePad tablet and the IdeaPad U1 Hybrid to the CES this year and ditched Windows for Android. While the earlier versions of the LePad (which had Windows on board) did not get too much of people love, they certainly might make a mark with the Android version. Anyhow, there is news of Lenovo launching the tablet and the hybrid PC in India.

According to AndroidOS.in, Lenovo’s MD for India Amar Babu talks about a likelihood of Lenovo introducing the LePad and IdeaPad U1 Hybrid in the country. If you’re unaware of the IdeaPad U1, the PC is a hybrid where the display can be detached from the keyboard and it can be used as a standalone tablet.

The LePad runs on a Snapdragon processor clocking 1.3 GHz while the IdeaPad runs on an Intel Core i5-540UM that clocks at 1.2 GHz which runs on Android Froyo. The LePad has a Lenovo-customized version of Android with a four-pane interface. The tablet also uses Lenovo’s push service which gets you emails, news and any other applications that use a push service. That’s all we have in terms of specs, but we’ll let you know more about it once we get an official statement of the tablet launching. LePad is supposed to launch in China in March and should follow suit in India pretty soon as well.
