Legion, the hacker group that recently set about wreaking havoc on high-profile Twitter accounts and mocking the security of India’s banking system, has just released email ids and passwords belonging to over 74,000 chartered accountants in India. The group leaked the information to The Times Of India (TOI) on the evening, yesterday. In conversation with TOI, a member of the hacker group insisted that they have “dumpz from all the major institutions”. These dumps are supposed to include data from banks, the aforementioned email ids and passwords of chartered accountants, related Dropbox account information and more.Dropbox is a cloud-storage service like Google Drive. The hacker apparently stated that it would be better for the Delhi Police to “strengthen their own passwords” rather than try to catch them. While the group has made some really tall claims, to date they’ve hacked Twitter accounts belonging to Rahul Gandhi, Vijay Mallya, Barkha Dutt and Ravish Kumar. They’ve also released an email dump purportedly belonging to Barkha Dutt and now, the email IDs and passwords of chartered accountants.Despite the noise that the group is making, however, the damage done so far is minimal, with only a few ruffled feathers to show for the effort.
