LG G2 running Android 4.4 KitKat caught in action; gold version spotted online

LG reportedly began rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat in December, but only a handful of users are believed to have received it. Moreover, we haven’t heard about status of the roll-out from LG either. Now, a new YouTube video shows G2 running Android KitKat and we can spot quite a few changes. The video, put up by someone named Ericsmissingteeth, has been recorded using Android's in-built screen recorder utility. It is almost three-minute long and shows the G2 UI with a major facelift. Take a look:The video shows slight changes to the notifications bar. It also shows the new Printing option in the settings, a feature that has been introduced in KitKat. The default camera app and browser now support full-screen or immersive modes. Also seen are some other features included in Android 4.4 KitKat such as the new dialler, deeper Google Now integration and the Hangouts app for SMS. Some other features include the new caller ID, the translucent status and navigation bars, a step counter and screen recording, to name a few. The G2 has been quite a successful flagship for the Korean company and even earned high praise from us in our review. But LG is preparing to launch a new variant of the phone with a gold exterior. Considering companies like Apple, Samsung and HTC already have gold variants of their high-end devices, LG is simply following suit. A site called ePrice has listed the 16GB Gold G2 for 14,900 Taiwanese dollar (approximately Rs 30,500) and 32GB variant at 16,900 Taiwanese dollar (approximately Rs. 34,600).
