Karbonn enters mobile accessories business; eyes Rs 100 crore revenue

Handset maker Karbonn entered the mobile accessories business and said its revenues from this vertical may touch Rs 100 crore by March, 2016.Currently, the accessories market is dominated by grey market products which impact the functioning and efficiency of devices.The move is aimed at offering consumers the choice of technologically superior mobile auxiliaries that are affordable, Karbonn Executive Director Shashin Devsare said in a statement."We are highly optimistic about the growth of Karbonn's accShashin Devsare essories vertical and expect it to touch Rs 100 crore by the end of FY2015-2016," Devsare added.The company will introduce power banks (5,000mAh, 7,000mAh and 10,000mAh variants), priced Rs 999 onwards and will be available for sale on Snapdeal from March 25.The company will also offer screen guards under brand 'Ultra Clear' customised for Karbonn mobile devices, which will be available across retail stores and eCommerce portals.PTI
