Is Google Chrome Headed to the PS3?

Could replace the current browser, which is a bit inadequate to say the least.

Sony’s PlayStation 3 is internet-enabled, but gamers have always been unsatisfied with the rather inadequate browser pre-installed on the console. That might now be changing, with rumours on the internet suggesting Google Chrome could be on its way to the device.Google and Sony in cahoots?

This was first reported on gaming forum NeoGAF, with member androvsky posting about stuff he had stumbled upon on the PS3’s online webkit source. He said, “I'm going through ps3-webkit-support.diff because I'm bored. Looks like we're actually getting Chrome, since Geoff's added a couple of files for ChromeClientPOSIX.

There's a lot of functions that aren't implemented, but they're mainly ones that involve windowing that you wouldn't expect to be supported on the PS3.

This might not mean much since I don't see the cool stuff from Chrome in these sources, like bookmark syncing, but it's a huge project, and the diff only covers what needed to be changed so it works on the PS3.”
