iPhone outsells Samsung's Galaxy S and Note smartphones
With all the reports about the iPhone 5's less-than-stellar performance and Samsung's stellar performance in smartphone sales, a report by Tavis

With all the reports about the iPhone 5's less-than-stellar performance and Samsung's stellar performance in smartphone sales, a report by Tavis McCourt of Raymond Jame may come as a bit of a surprise. According to CNET, the report consists of a chart that shows the cumulative sales for the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5, and compares it to that of Samsung's Galaxy S and Note line-ups.

Everything looks more official with graphs!
Earlier this month, Samsung had announced that the entire line-up of Galaxy S phones has crossed the 100 million sales landmark. The news of the sales landmark came not long after Samsung announced that the Galaxy S III sales had crossed 30 million in November.
Samsung wrote on the Samsung Tomorrow Flickr page that the sales high had come merely two years and seven months after the launch of the first flagship Galaxy S phone. Since then, Samsung Galaxy S II, what the Korean electronics giant calls ‘the driving force behind Samsung Electronics’ rise to the top of the global smartphone market’, has sold over 40 million times in only 20 months.
The Samsung Galaxy S III has sold way faster at the rate of 30 million in five months and 40 million in seven months. The phone had hit a million target in only 50 days after its debut in May last year. Samsung had aggressively marketed its flagship Samsung Galaxy S III right from its launch and the effort seems to have paid off. The smartphone had been heavily advertised even during the Olympics in London in 2012. Just a little later, Samsung made the phone available in colours that went past the normal Blue and Marble White. In November, Samsung announced the availability of some more colour options such as Spiral Black, Garnet Red and Embassy Brown.
On the other side of the coin, Apple had recently started cutting orders for iPhone parts. This is mostly due to the weaker-than-expected demand of the iPhone 5. Orders for the screen for the January-March quarter have dropped to half of what the company had previously planned to order. It has also cut orders for parts other than screens.
It really makes you think about just how popular the iPhone still is, despite the reportedly disappointing sales of the iPhone 5.
Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns.
