Intex Mobiles has announced plans to release a smartphone powered by MediaTek's new true octa-core chip soon.
According to Tech2, the MT6592 chipset which was announced by MediaTek in July, is said to come with eight cores and promises better performance in terms of gaming, video playback as well as better battery performance.
According to Tech2, Intex will launch the device globally this week.
The smartphone's processor will be clocked at 1.5 GHz and will have a 6-inch HD IPS LCD screen. It will also come with a Mali 450 GPU. It will have 2GB of RAM, 16GB and 32GB internal memory variants. The smartphone will likely run Android 4.2.2.

The company has not yet announced the name of the smartphone.Other rumoured features of the smartphone are Yamaha 1420 speakers, a 13-megapixel rear camera packed with a BSI sensor and auto focus on the back and a 5-megapixel front camera.
Currently the two octa-core smartphones in India are from Samsung: The Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy S4. It will be interesting to see the price at which Intex launches its octa-core smartphone.
