Intel Core i7 2700K processors arriving soon

It’s been a while since we’ve seen any new, fast Sandy Bridge processors. Most of the newer models have been budget and value offerings for the masses. According to CPU World, Intel is readying a new processor, which most definitely is going to be the Intel Core i7 2700K. This is based on the naming convention used for their Material Declaration Data Sheets (MDDS). Intel has added two entries to the sheets - BX80623I72700K and BXC80623I72700K. The 2700K at the end of these codes denotes the processor model. The Core i7 2700K will belong to the Sandy Bridge line of processors and will be destined to systems based on the LGA1155 socket.

CPU World believes that the 2700K will run four cores with hyper-threading enabled. There should be 1MB of L2 cache and 8MB of L3 cache in all. The TDP is likely to be similarly to that of the 2600K at 95W. Core speeds will also be higher. The new Core i7 2700K may hit markets before the end of this year or latest, in the first quarter of 2012. Intel might choose to wait for AMD to launch their Bulldozer processors, before releasing the 2700K to markets worldwide.
