Intel CEO Brian Krzanich promises $300 million as part of tech diversity initiative

The tech industry says it wants more diversity in its workforce, but the actual hiring doesn't reflect that. The car-maker hopes to cure the world's transportation ills by delivering everything from a quicker trip down the Las Vegas Strip and helping drivers more easily finding a parking spot, to improving access to medical services in remote areas of West Africa.PCMag reported that chip giant Intel pledged to invest $300 million over the next five years to improve the diversity of the company's workforce.At the same event, Intel also introduced a Compute Stick for TVs. “More than just a media stick like the Amazon Fire TV Stick, the Compute Stick essentially squeezes the power of a tablet into the size of a pack of gum. While it can handle media streaming duties via its HDMI 1.4a port, its other specs let you do much more,” points out ZDnet.The company also unveiled Curie, a tiny hardware module that lets anyone create a smart wearable. This is a tiny hardware product based on the company’s first purpose-built system-on-chip (SoC) for wearable devices.
