Instagram and WhatsApp rollout small new features every other day. Like how Instagram released the 'Close Friends' customisable list option last week. However, from what a recent report suggests, Instagram might be going with the New Year New Me motto this time with a radical new UI change.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, Instagram is testing a new user interface for both the iOS and Android app. Reportedly, Instagram will be adopting a new 'cards' format for the app, where you swipe through items in your feed similar to Stories, instead of scrolling down. And on top of these cards will be small preview thumbnails of the posts.[caption id="attachment_5032251" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Instagram. We are unsure what that means, but it considering there will be a cards format, this probably means that the icons for profile and DM will sit on the menu-strip at the bottom. This card-like UI is likely to be in sync with Android Pie and iOS 12's own gesture-based UI.
