Huawei confirms Honor 9 launch in India on 5 October; event to go live at 11am

Huawei announced the Honor 9 globally back in June and as per new reports, Honor India will soon introduce the mid-range flagship device in India. Huawei took to its Twitter handle to confirm that the device will be launched on 5 October.[caption id="attachment_4102183" align="alignleft" width="380"] Honor 9[/caption]According to a report by GizmoChina, Honor's YouTube channel has also confirmed the launch of the Honor 9 to be on the same date. Honor has been teasing the launch of Honor 9 in India since last week using the hashtag 'ExploreWithHonor'. As per the tweet, the event will go live at 11 am from Goa.The Honor 9 sports a design similar to Xiaomi's Mi 6 launched in China earlier this year. The smartphone features a 5.15-inch 1080p display offering DCI-P3 color space which is also used on the iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8. Inside, the Honor 9 is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset paired with 6 GB of RAM. The phone is offered in two storage variants of 64 GB and 128 GB, with expandable storage using a hybrid SIM slot.In terms of camera specifications, it sports a dual-camera setup similar to the Honor 8 Pro launched in July. However, the 12 MP + 12 MP sensors have been bettered on the Honor 9 which sports a 12 MP and 20 MP combination with 2x optical zoom capabilities. The Honor 9 also comes with Huawei Pay, company's own mobile payment solution, but it is still to be seen if that will be supported in India.
