Earlier this month, we got a glimpse of HTC’s new monster of a droid, the Ruby, out in the wild. Today, PocketNow has managed to get their hands on an official press shot from HTC, which indicates the official launch could be right around the corner. The picture looks exactly the same as the one, we saw before. Given the name and the shape of the phone, we think HTC should have targeted this for women, instead of the Rhyme. Maybe they got their focus groups mixed up, who knows. Don't be fooled by its girlie name

But, under that sleek and curvy figure lie some pretty intense components. The Ruby will have a 4.3-inch qHD display and will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor (we still don’t know which one). Furthermore, it will sport a gig of RAM, HD capable 8MP shooter, NFC support and will rock HTC’s Sense 3.5 user interface. It will run Android 2.3, of course and in all likelihood get Ice Cream Sandwich as well, whenever Google is done with it.

HTC is having an event in London on October 6th, this year, so we could expect an announcement around that time.
