HTC One stock hits retailers; gets sold out in most stores

HTC One fans in India have had to wait long to get their hands on their favourite smartphone, but the wait is now over with stock reaching retailers over the weekend. We can confirm that the HTC One is available in multi-brand retail stores as well as smaller electronics outlets.

The phone is being sold for Rs 42,899 at major retailer Croma, but we have been informed that most stores have sold out all the available HTC One units. The Croma store in Mumbai’s High Street Phoenix mall sold all available units over the weekend and we were told that almost all outlets have sold out their stock. “There may still be one or two units left in some stores,” a Croma representative told us. They further said that there may be units available in the Fort outlet, which makes sense considering the thin crowd in the business district on the weekend. Conveniently, there are EMI schemes being offered to customers who cannot bear to pay the whole price in one go.

In stores, but selling fast

We found that the phone is available at Heera Panna market as well, where it had been available for quite some time unofficially (i.e., without bill and warranty) and for a premium. Here, the HTC One is being sold at a slight discount, with a price tag of Rs 42,000 (along with bill and warranty). Both colour versions of the phone are available.

The One is also available online at retailers like Flipkart and Infibeam, where it had previously been sitting with a pre-order tag.
