HTC Ocean rumoured to be in the works; to feature a touch-sensitive metal frame and button-less design

HTC's product designer, Danelle Vermulen released a video that teases a new concept smartphone called HTC Ocean. The short clip showcases a smartphone with a dual-camera setup at the back and the first of its kind, a touch sensitive frame. The concept has no buttons.If this concept does turn out to be a reality, it will open up a whole new way of interacting with smartphones. The feature, being dubbed as Sense Touch, will let smartphone designers remove physical volume and power controls and add contextual controls that will take up less space on the display. For instance just swiping the right edge could open the Google voice assistant or doing the same in the Music app could toggle volume or skip a track. Even camera controls, like zooming in or the taking a picture could be simply done by sliding or tapping on the frame.The design and finish of the smartphone looks similar to the HTC 10. It doesn’t have any kind of branding either, just like the rumoured HTC-made Pixel smartphones that are expected to be announced by Google on 5 October.Leakster LlabTooFeR recently mentioned that three handsets codenamed Ocean Master, Ocean Note and Ocean Smart, featuring this new technology are being worked on. Apart from the names, there is no other info available.All of this is still under speculation, so taking this with a pinch of salt is advised.
