HTC Desire 200 leak shows a 3.5-inch display and Android 4.0 OS

Following the launch of the HTC Desire 600 dual SIM last month, a leaked hands-on video of the company’s latest foray into the budget Android smartphones has been spotted. According to Vietnamese site thegiodidong, the smartphone has been titled Desire 200, although an official date of release for the phone is yet to be announced.

From what can be seen, the smartphone will be coming with a 3.5-inch screen and a resolution of 320 x 480. In addition to that, the budget Android phone will come with 512MB of RAM and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Desire 200 will also feature 4GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB courtesy a microSD slot. The smartphone will also come with a 5 megapixel camera for the base model.

A 1GHz processor may be featured under the hood of the Desire 200. In addition, the smartphone will feature rear-facing speakers and a 3.5 mm audio jack with Beats audio when it hits the Asian markets soon. While availability in India has still not been announced, there should be some online retailers who will be able to get their hands on the piece.

Both the Desire 200 and the now officially announced Desire 600 were first seen due to leaked benchmark results, according to Engadget. The Desire 600, as reported earlier, is a mid-range smartphone and sports a quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The 4.5-inch Desire 600 comes with an 8 megapixel camera and 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via the card slot.

There doesn’t seem to be an official price tag for the Desire 200 or the Desire 600 yet. Be that as it may, the company may soon announce the Desire 200 and also reveal the price for both smartphones after that.
