HTC bags a three-year exclusive deal for building Nexus devices: Report

Recently we heard about the HTC-made Nexus to support 3D Touch display, and now a new report from a Chinese website reveals that the company may have bagged a three-year exclusive contract to build Google's Nexus devices.In the past we've seen Samsung, LG, Huawei and Motorola build Google's Nexus devices, but if you remember the first ever Nexus One was built by HTC. Also, it built a Nexus tablet later.Now, it is also believed that the company will be building both Nexus devices this year, which are expect to also showcase the upcoming Nexus N. We've seen a leak from ROM developer LlabTooFeR who tweeted out the codenames of the two models. The smaller 5-inch model will be codenamed ‘T50’ while the larger model has been tagged as ‘T55’. The smaller model will replace the LG-made Nexus 5X while the bigger smartphone is expected to replace the Huawei-made Nexus 6P.The recent report highlighting that the next Nexus handset will be using a 3D Touch also revealed that it is quite possible that Google might look at making the feature a standard for Android. The report also added that Chinese smartphone brands like Xiaomi, Meizu, Oppo and Vivo are also working on handsets with this technology. Most recently, Gionee unveiled its Elife S8 phone that boasts of the 3D Touch feature too.
