HDFC Bank's new Next-Gen mobile banking app down for the fourth consecutive day

HDFC Bank on Tuesday launched its newest mobile banking app on the App Store and the Google Play Store, featuring a revamped interface and added functionality. However, for the fourth consecutive day, users have been unable to access their account details upon logging into the app.[caption id="attachment_5647861" align="alignnone" width="1280"]

Image: Reuters[/caption]Upon logging into the app, users have been receiving an error which reads, "Sorry, we are currently experiencing high traffic on our servers. Please try again after some time." Talking about the issue, many users took to Twitter to voice their concerns.

HDFC Bank meanwhile has acknowledged the problem and has stated in a quote to Gadgets360 that the bank has its teams working round the clock to ensure things are back in order. The 'Next-Gen' mobile bank app which replaced all existing mobile banking apps from HDFC on the Google Play Store after launch, has been pulled out of both Android and iOS app stores to avoid more people from downloading the flawed app.HDFC hasn't yet confirmed when the app will be back up which is a cause of concern for its users. The bank authorities asked about the issue, have dodged the question by recommending customers to access their accounts by using the net banking, Missed Call banking, or Phonebanking platforms.We are yet to know from HDFC as to what has caused the outage, but considering other services are functional, it is unlikely that there is a critical cybersecurity issue here.
