Google's Social Tool, Google+ is Out Today

If you thought that Google must’ve dumped its ‘go social’ plans after its last move in that direction Google Wave lost all steam then you surely missed this detail. All this while, Google was working on its latest social venture, and has named it Google+. Launched today, Google+ aims to achieve the +, with this one.

Among the first feature that Google has bundled in its + package, is +Circles. This feature implies to the homogeneity that people usually undergo in their social life, or circle, as it better suits the situation. On Google’s +Circles, users are encouraged to maintain different circles for different kinds of contacts, instead of the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. Next in line is +Sparks – as the name suggests, this feature would spark up, or at least try to spark up your page with the kind of content you like to read, or share about, in close to 40 languages. Users can get started on it once they populate the space with their preferential topics, and the search engine will pick topics relating to that.

The best way to Hangout?

The feature that caught my fancy is the next one, called +Hangouts. Based on a pretty interesting concept, of just letting your circle of friends know that you’ve dropped in, and exchange quick pleasantries without actually bothering someone with the constant “u thr?”, “Busy?”; +Hangouts do just that, and it also allows you to add live multi-person video, if you wish to, to that casual conversation. The concept of +Mobile is interesting, too. Their sole slogan being, “share anything, without any hassle”, and also suggests that you add your location to your posts. Also, what’s sharing really, if it’s got remotely nothing to do with pictures?! +Upload on Google+ claims to allow instant uploading of all your pictures. Lastly, on the + roster is +Huddle, which, according to Google is the best way to stay in touch with family, or friends.
