Google will soon offer paid apps on Play Store for as low as Rs 10

Google is introducing some changes to its Google Play Store in India to make it more enticing for developers. Taking cue from Apple, Google will now offer developers the option to price their apps as low as Rs 10 in India.According to a blog by Google India, Alistair Pott, Product Manager at Google Play said, "India continues to be a major growth opportunity for developers to reach new users on Google Play. We’ve heard feedback from you — our global developer community — that you’d like more flexibility when choosing how much to charge for your apps and games in India."The move also applies to in-app purchases, another aspect that users are wary of doing. For developers, this move by Google will allow them to price their apps and games for as little as Rs 10. Google is also on the verge of introducing gift cards in India. On the Google support page, the company has listed India along with the terms of service as one of the countries to get the option of gift cards. The gift cards options will be available in Rs 500, Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500.Over the years, Google has tweaked its apps store including a name change from Android app store to Play Store. Previously, the company introduced a new and interesting feature which lets users ‘pre-register’ for apps in Google Play Store. Pre-registration is free for Android customers and allows them to receive notifications when the app or game is available for download or for purchase on the store.
