For those who'd rather make gestures or hand write than type, Google has updated its Gesture Search app. The updated app (v2.1.1) is available for use on Android phones and tablets, and is capable of recognising a mix of over 40 languages.

So if you're among those, you can draw a number or letter and access contacts, applications, bookmarks, settings and music with the swipe of your finger on the screen. Gestures galore!

The Gesture Search app lets you quickly get to your contacts, applications, settings, music and bookmarks on your Android device by drawing letters and numbers. As per its description, the app fine tunes search results even as users add gestures, and improves as it learns from your search history.

"You can even use transliteration across many languages so you could write [pinyin] for Chinese instead of writing native characters potentially use more strokes. This also works for other languages where transliteration is used more often," an official post elaborating on the update adds.

In addition to these changes, the app also comes with some bug fixes. The updated Google Gesture Search app is available for download on the Google Play store.
