Google's Triangle app to give Android users better control over mobile data

Google recently began testing its new Android app called 'Triangle', which from its description on the Play Store, can help people better manage their mobile data on their smartphones. This can help users giving them a better understanding about where their data is being consumed the most.Moreover, it not only helps in giving the user an understanding of which app used the most data, but also an option save the same thank to its built-in data saver feature. This data saver helps in gathering information about which app uses the most data and provides an additional function to control how much data should be used. For instance, an app can be set to use data for ten minutes, thirty minutes or always.Currently, this is being tested in the Philippines only, where it is available for prepaid and postpaid users of Globe and Smart networks. Also, it helps in gathering information regarding new apps. Here, it gives the option of downloading the apps as well as give it a try without the risk of losing data.Previously, Google had also introduced a feature on Google Chrome's mobile version, which helped in compressing and managing the web browsing data. The same was announced in their blog post back in 2014 on both Android and iOS platforms. The functionality gave the user an idea on how much data has been used with the option help reduce data usage as well.
