Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL have started to receive HDR support on Netflix

Netflix offers a range of content quality on its platform, from SD, 4K to HDR. However, not all smartphones are compatible with Netflix's HDR mode. We have right now seen only a handful of flagship (mostly) smartphones supporting the resolution with the likes of Galaxy S9 duo, Galaxy Note 9, Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, Sony Xperia XZ3 and XZ2 Premium, LG G7, and a few others.Now, according to a report by Android Police, the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are also joining the league.[caption id="attachment_5401651" align="alignnone" width="1024"] The Google Pixel 3 XL. Image: tech2/Prannoy Palav[/caption]While Android Police has shared a screenshot of the new mode on a Pixel 3, Netflix is yet to update its list of smartphones compatible with HDR.Also, from what it looks like, not all Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are seeing the HDR badge on Netflix yet. Presumingly, this is a phased rollout. Reportedly, the change is also not associated with any one version or update, so it's not like you need to run an update to get the feature. It's likely a server-side switch and shall slowly reach all Pixel 3 and 3XL users.
