To make the phone call simply say 'OK Google' and then say 'call' followed by the contact name saved in your phone. According to TechCrunch saying something like "call the nearest sandwich shop" should also work.The feature should be out for the Google Home devices in US and Canada within a week.Other countries where Google Home is available for purchase like the UK , Australia, France and Germany have currently no assurance of receiving the update.
