Google gets Diagon Alley to your screen, courtesy Street View

Google has now come up with a way for Muggles and Wizards alike to visit Diagon Alley, without have to shell out a lot of Galleons to get to London. The search engine giant has added the well known alley on Google Map's Street View. While Street View mode definitely can’t compare to the Marauders Map, users can check out parts of the set of Diagon Alley from the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London.

The location, which plays an important part in J K Rowling’s series of novels, later came alive when the movie adaptations of the Harry Potter series were picked up. Now, walking down Diagon Alley looking for your wand or school book may just be one click away. This is not the first time that Google has brought Street View inside a building, according to NBCNews, but a movie set is a rare deal, and the Harry Potter set is a rarer treat at that.

Street View offers a 360 view of Ollivanders Wand Shop, the outrageously coloured Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes joke shop as well as Mr. Mulpepper’s Apothecary. Any fan of the series will love to see the life size set, where shops selling everything from exploding tarts to unicorn’s tail hair can be found.

If anyone has ever been lucky enough to go for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, they will know that Diagon Alley set took more than three months to build, and it took six months to create over 20,000 products to put on the shops' shelves. However, people who haven’t gone yet can now explore Diagon Alley for themselves, which is definitely a worth-while experience for anyone who has read the series.
