Google has announced that it has increased the maximum contacts limit in Gmail to 25,000. This change also applies for everyone who has a Google Apps account.

The previous upper limit was 10,000 which in our opinion was plenty, but several requests were apparently being sent Google’s way to increase the limit and it has complied with the requests. Also increased is the individual contact size – the upper limit is now 128kb, up from the previous 32kb limit. This will make those who like to store lots of information about their contacts happy.

This sounds like a pretty good move to us because even if we cannot fathom why anyone would need more 10,000 contacts, we know it’s more convenient to store all of one’s contacts in a single place instead of branching them out.
