Gionee just launched the Marathon M5 which boasts a 6020mAh battery and now, the company is gearing up to launch the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus in China on December 21.According to a Weibo post, the company has announced a launch event on December 21 in China where it will unveil the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus. No other details have been shared regarding price nor specifications. Judging by the 'Plus' added to the Gionee Marathon M5, one can expect a larger battery along with a probable larger screen. A report by BGR pointed out that that device is expected to retain the reverse charging facility, wherein you can charge two phones at a time.[caption id="attachment_289840" align="aligncenter" width="640"]6f3fc3ecgw1eyivjz94k6j20k00zktaq Image: Weibo[/caption]The Marathon M5 was launched in India last month at a price of Rs 17,999. In terms of specifications, the smartphone sports a 5.5-inch HD display with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor with 2GB RAM. It includes an internal storage of 16GB, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card.In terms of connectivity, the Marathon M5 includes 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth as well as A–GPS. It will be offered in White, Grey and Gold colour variants. The Gionee Marathon M5 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo 3.0 UI on top and comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front-facing camera. The main USP for the smartphone is its battery life. The device packs in two 3010mAh batteries which brings the total up to 6020mAh. The company claims that the battery will last up to 4 days. Gionee also states that the battery can last up to 62 hours with just 5 percent battery.
