Flipkart launches scheduled delivery service, plans to offer installation service too

Flipkart today announced the launch of Scheduled Delivery for its customers. This supply-chain feature enables customers choose a specific date and time for delivery of their order. Customers can choose delivery slots as early as the next day. Flipkart is currently the only e-commerce website that offers such a service.

This service will be free of cost for Flipkart’s customers and will initially be available only for the large appliances category and will eventually be extended to other select categories. Soon, Flipkart will also be offering its customers installation service along with delivery during the pre-selected slots.

Rahul Chari, VP of Supply Chain Engineering, Flipkart, said, “Flipkart has always been in the forefront of offering unique and innovative supply chain benefits that take e-commerce to a different level. Schedule Delivery as a feature, serves to enhance the online shopping experience, especially in metros where time constraints are a huge bottleneck for customers. While this is especially true of large appliances – we intend to extend this benefit to other categories soon.”
