There is good news for all you Flipboard enthusiasts. The Android version of the app has received the much awaited update that allows you to create and curate your own publication using the application.

Called Flipboard 2.0, the update was first made available to users of the app on iOS in March. You will now be able to use Flipboard on Android to create your own personal feed with topics that matter to you the most. Earlier, you could only read through content on the app that had been previously added by Flipboard’s editorial team. But now, anything goes with the app.Create your own fashion or sports magazine using Flipboard now

You can put together articles and images from various places to create a publication of your own. It will also be possible for you to share your publications with the world. The feature that was first added on to the iOS version of the app saw more than 500,000 magazines being created in about two weeks. Flipboard had listed USA, UK and Canada as among the top five countries creating magazines on its platform.

The magazines that were earlier created on iOS devices were only available for reading on Android. Now, Android users have the power to go about creating these magazines too. Flipboard has successfully shifted the position of the reader from merely being a spectator to a creator.

Here’s how you can make your own magazine in Android: Either using the Flipboard app or browser bookmarklet select an article, story, or page that you wish to curate. If you’re using the app, tap on the plus button in order to add it to your publication. It’s important to note that you cannot start a magazine from scratch but only using this method. Once you’ve started creating the magazine, you may go through as many sources as you want to add as many articles as you like. These magazines can be public or private.
