It's just been over a month since Mozilla released Firefox 2.0 Beta 1 which gave Firefox users a great preview of what was in store for them in version 2 of the popular browser. However the second beta has now been delayed. It has been put on hold due to persistent bugs.Although Beta 2 is on hold, this will not affect the September 26 launch for the final release of Firefox 2.0. The browser which adds a number of new features to the mix including integrated spell checking (good for forum users), enhanced search capabilities (should have been put in a long time ago), session saver (about time) and anti-phishing technologies (borrowed from IE!??) will enter shakedown stage by the end of this month. This release is very important for Firefox. Microsoft's IE7 has been generally well received and being fairly standard compliant. Between V2 of Firefox and the final build of IE7 there is a general expectation that the browser wars of the 1990s will enjoy a mini-revival.
