Facebook which just launched its own iPhone camera app is now in talks to buy, face recognition technology company Face.com.

Facebook which just launched its own iPhone camera app is now in talks to buy, face recognition technology company Face.com reports TheNextWeb. The social networking site recently bought Instagram for $1 bn.
According Newsgeek, the deal size could be between $80 million to $100 million.
TheNextWeb reports that for now these are pure speculations and both Facebook and NewsGeek said that there is nothing new to report.

Face.com was founded in 2007 by Gil Hirsch, Yaniv Taigman, Moti Sniberg and Eden Shochat. It has a unique facial recognition technology, which allows users to identify images and their friends online and tag them automatically. Face.com offers an free public API.
This is not the first time that the two companies are in a involved in a rumoured deal. Facebook has been extensively using this technology. The two companies have been working incollaboration as well for sometime.
The Israeli startup has been resisting buyout offers from Facebook because of the low offer being made by the social media network.
The latest report once again highlights the fact that Facebook is developing its social networking strategy further.
