Facebook Falters Again, Sets Email Alerts On By Default

Yesterday, several Facebook-ers complained of receiving notifications by the dozen, each time: someone tagged them in a photo, they got a friend request, a comment on their photo album, just about anything. It reached ridiculing levels when the alerts that were once turned off by the users, where ticked on again, by default.

Angry users flooded Facebook’s ‘Known Issues on Facebook’ page with comments, asking them to fix the loopholes quickly. The irritation was noticeable in the comments of most of the users, and some openly slammed the social network for such carelessness. Comments like, “really angry to see all that s--- in my inbox today and then to have to go carpal tunnel clicking EVERY SINGLE BOX opting out. FB- I am marking you as a spammer and every thing you ever send me from now on gets dumped into my email doo-doo heap” started spamming the page.

Facebook, however, assures having fixed the problem. But, so much negativity around is surely not doing any good.
