Facebook Events gets a facelift; will come with 'Events For You' section

Looks like Facebook wants you to get out of your house and go partying or attend an event even if you aren't invited for it. Yes, you heard that right. Facebook Events section that usually shows your calendar events and what your friends are up to, now will recommend some events too. To begin with, Facebook Events has got a slight makeover. The unannounced design changes were first spotted by Techcrunch, and Facebook later confirmed to the news site that it is testing the new feature with some users, and it will be rolled out globally only in the coming weeks. Talking about the new look, Techcrunch writes, "The main Events feed now has a much cleaner, more condensed, iOS7-ish feel to it. A tabbed interface lets you quickly jump back and forth between All your events, Invites, events you’ve “Saved” but not RSVP’d to, and ones you’re “Hosting”. A shortcut on the right lets you hop immediately into past events or the creation flow. The design makes it much easier to manage invites because they get a dedicated space, instead of being meshed in with ones you’ve already accepted or declined." Apart from some visual changes, the company has also added the 'Events for You' feature that suggests some events/parties that you could possibly be interested in. These recommendations will depend on how well Facebook gauges your usages. On the right sidebar, users will notice the 'Events for You' section. It shows a list of events depending upon what kind of data you've been sharing. It will depend upon the pages you like, groups and communities you are a part of and obviously if a common friend is attending the same event.
