eBay India (www.ebay.in), one of the country’s leading ecommerce marketplaces, announced the eBay iPad app for India – now available for free download from the iTunes App Store. The eBay App will allow iPad users to shop, browse and compare prices easily while on the go as well as log onto their eBay India account. The app enables shoppers to search and select their favorite products from over 6 million live listings on eBay India across 2,000 categories of products in Electronics, Lifestyle, Collectibles & Media verticals.

Our key focus around mobile devices in 2012 is to get greater penetration of our apps and encourage people to use this as a device to check prices before shopping offline.

To get started, users need to simply download the app and it will automatically browse the eBay India site. It features all the aspects of the actual site, including the options to sell, search, bid, buy and browse and lets sellers, users and buyers look and shop for the products they want with simple scrolling, advanced search and even showcases high resolution pictures.

Users can then click on the desired product to read its description or details of the seller. To buy the product, they can select the ‘Buy it Now’ option and confirm the purchase by selecting the ‘Commit to Buy’ option. Payments for purchases can be done online on the www.ebay.in website through eBay India’s secure payment method PaisaPay. All purchases are secure and covered by eBay Guarantee. Consumers can also access their ‘My eBay’ account, saved searches as well reminders and messages from eBay.
