E3 2011: Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 Announced
Inglorious Basterds meets Team Fortress 2 in Gearbox Software's latest shooter.
Gearbox Software have been busy with Duke Nukem Forever but they’re also working on a bunch of other projects, one of which is a brand new Brothers in Arms game called Furious 4. But unlike the gritty and realistic BIA games before its time, Furious 4 is an over-the-top stylized take on World War II, inspired more by the likes of Team Fortress 2 and Inglorious Basterds.
Set in World War II, Brothers in Arms Furious 4 is a brutal first person shooter that offers an exciting campaign mode playable with up to four players in co-op, as well as an extensive competitive multiplayer mode. The story follows four fierce and fearless warriors chasing the Führer himself. As one of the Furious 4, players will use special weaponry and unexpected combat abilities to fight the greatest threat the world has ever faced: an experimental Nazi army conceived in secret by the Third Reich.
The game releases in 2012 for the Xbox360, PS3 and PC.
Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
