E3 2008: FF XIII Coming to The Xbox 360!

To the joy of a million fans of the age old Final Fantasy series, Square announced today that Final Fantasy XIII will be released on the Xbox 360 as well! The revelation was made during the screening of an in-game trailer of the same, during Microsoft’s E3 2008 Press conference.

The game will be "Available on Xbox 360 at launch in North America and Europe”, so there’s no sign of even a timed exclusivity deal for the PlayStation 3. They concluded by justifying this move: "We believe that bringing the game to Xbox 360 will allow us to provide a game to even more fans in North America and Europe."

With the production cost of games going through the roof, it’s no surprise that the many (previously exclusive) huge AAA titles are going the multiplatform way to make a profit. That said, I know of a lot of people for whom Final Fantasy XIII was the only reason to buy a PS3! There’s no doubt that PlayStation 3 has lost one of its biggest exclusives today.
