Dog Trouble For DVD Pirates

The next time you try to send the latest Bollywood Blockbuster to a homesick cousin in the UK, beware! You may get yourself in serious canine trouble.The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) has joined forces with the Federation Against Copyright Theft (FACT) to train dogs to detect DVDs in all packages coming into the United Kingdom. The trained dogs will be able to sniff out optical disks at various customs points at the airport. The packages will then be opened and checked for pirated items.The first two dogs, Lucky and Flo are soon to be employees at the FedEx's British hub at the Stansted Airport in Essex. Although the dogs cannot distinguish between pirated and original DVDs and CDs, the move will definitely give sharper teeth to the Anti Piracy campaign. The dogs may also be used for warehouse inspections by the FACT in future.
