Gemalto announces full eSIM compliance with GSMA's Security Accreditation Scheme

Gemalto a digital security firm has announced that its embedded SIM (eSIM) is compliant with the security requirements of the GSMA's Security Accreditation Scheme. The company claims to be the first in the world to demonstrate full compliance with the Security Accreditation Scheme of GSMA.[caption id="attachment_3897213" align="alignleft" width="380"]

Gemalto[/caption]The security accreditation to Gemalto by GSMA certifies that the company takes appropriate measures when handling and storage of sensitive user data.According to the company, the accreditation applies to industrial IoT applications, automotive solutions and consumer electronics. These measures also include the management of mobile subscriptions over the entire service life-cycle and initial eSIM production. eSIM is a software-enabled chip that is permanently soldered into a device during the production and can be monitored remotely during its entire life-cycle. According to the company, eSIM prevents tampering and simplifies manufacturing and logistics. It eliminates any chances of replacing the SIM at a later stage of a product's life cycle."These new certifications demonstrate Gemalto's leadership and commitment to implementing rigorous security measures that extend from the core to the very edge.
