Dating app Tinder adds verified profiles for celebrities

You might have always wondered how numerous profiles on social media use a celebrity's image as their profile picture. Celebrities are now getting increasingly social media aware, and the latest app to ensure that many of them get on its network is Tinder.In a post on the official blog, Tinder announced, "Tinder: it’s how people meet. Each day, 26 million matches are made on Tinder, and we do our best to keep those matches real —  that’s why we’re rolling out Verified Profiles.Starting today, you may see a verified symbol on some profiles. Now when notable public figures, celebrities and athletes appear in your recommendations, you’ll know it’s for real."In April, Hilary Duff went out on her first Tinder date. According to a report in the TechCrunch, "Rumors have been swirling the past few months that various celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Hilary Duff, had started using the dating platform. At TechCrunch Disrupt NY in May, cofounder and President Sean Rad wouldn’t comment on whether or not those rumors are true. But based on today’s rollout, it would appear that there are at least a few big names swiping left and right out there."
