Could RIM Skip 6.1 and Move on to 7.0 at BlackBerry World 2011?

RIM’s big event to be held in Florida, BlackBerry World is almost upon us and news is beginning to trickle out about what we can expect to see emerging out of the big event. At the top of the list is BlackBerry 7 OS or is it 6.1? I’m not sure what the final outcome will be, so we’ll just have to wait for the announcement. CrackBerry has mentioned that although 6.1 would be defunct update version, it’s possible, since there’s been some word on 7 as well, that RIM might simply skip the point ones and twos and go straight to the next number.

What's going to be on show?

There’s not much detail talked about with this upgrade but it’s all a matter of a short time till all is revealed. I’m also expecting to see a few of their new handsets, promised in the 2011 roadmap that made it tout, to be showcased at the event. The event will commence on May 3rd, 2011.
