Cooler Master offering LGA2011 bracket upgrade free of cost

With the Sandy Bridge-E right around the corner, many gamers and enthusiasts will be looking for an upgrade to their system. Since the X79 chipset will sport a new LGA2011 socket, existing CPU coolers will be incompatible with the new socket. Cooler Master  have just announced their LGA2011 bracket upgrade program, where existing users of the Hyper 212 Ev4b and Hyper 212 Plus CPU coolers are eligible for a free LGA2011 bracket. Support is said to grow for other coolers as well but for now, Cooler Master will be starting with their most popular models.

No need to look for a new cooler

While the new batch of Hyper 212 Evo/Plus will come with the bracket in the box, this is for existing owners only. All you have to do is visit their ‘Parts request page’ and fill in your details, including the heatsink serial number and invoice for a LGA2011 motherboard or processor. It’s important to note that this only applies to Canada, Mexico and U.S., right now with more countries to be added to the list. We feel this is a great initiative from Cooler Master, as it shows their dedication and support towards their products. Once the new platform hits the streets, expect every vendor to come out with compatible brackets, but not all of them will be offering it for free.
