CES 2017: Xiaomi announces Mi MIX White with (almost) no bezels, to launch later this year in China

Xiaomi's first CES appearance saw a lot of product announcements for a relatively new company. The Chinese consumer electronics giant announced three new products, all of which may not be entirely new to consumers.The first product to be launched was the much anticipated White Mi MIX made out of Ceramic. We expected the company to launch this new version of Mi MIX for quite some time and as soon as Hugo Barra started narrating the piezoelectric acoustic system used in Mi MIX along with the 17:9 display, we knew that this was the announcement.[caption id="attachment_356380" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Image Credit: MIUI Forum[/caption]Barra went on to point out the innovations implemented in Xiaomi Mi MIX including rounded display, Ceramic acoustic system, ultrasonic proximity sensor and compact front camera. Mi MIX sports a 6.4-inch display with an edge to edge design, meaning there are no bezels at the top and sides. What you also get is a high screen-to-body ratio at 91.3 percent. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset clocked at 2.35GHz with 4GB/6GB RAM and is available in both 128GB and 256GB options.[caption id="attachment_356381" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Image Credit: MIUI Forum[/caption]Mi MIX is equipped with a 16MP PDAF rear camera and 5MP front facing camera. Apart from the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, there is also full NFC functionality with a high-precision GPS module. The smartphone is powered by a 4400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.Barra detailed the design process of Mi MIX black and went on to praise the White Ceramic model. One interesting thing to note is that the smartphone will launch in China later this year and there are no details on US launch or any other country outside China. Other products announced by Xiaomi at CES 2017 include Mi Router HD and Mi TV 4.
