CDProjekt to unveil The Witcher 3 for Xbox One at Microsoft's pre-E3 conference

Microsoft has earlier promised that it will be showing off some games for its next-gen console, the Xbox One. Reports are coming in from Polish website Wprost that one of the biggest games slated for next year—The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt—will be one of the games featured at Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference tonight.

Back in April, CDProjekt had announced that it will continue its tradition of selling the games without any sort of DRM. When asked if the company will be considering always-online DRM for the game, the response was, "No." Lead Gameplay Designer Maciej Szczesnik elaborated: "If someone wants to pirate a game, eventually he will."

CDProjekt's Managing Director Adam Badowski continued, "Which is bad, of course. But you can't do anything about it, so. We want to give the best user experience possible. When we removed DRM, people on those torrents were actually asking people not to download our game, because we [weren't using DRM]."

Other features revealed include the addition of complete day and night cycles along with dynamic weather patterns, the inclusion of ten signs, instead of the previous games' five signs, the addition of combat "skills" and the change to alchemy to make it more supportive.

CDProjekt RED had announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt back in February. The game will be using the same art direction from The Witcher 2 and will be improving the visuals with the REDEngine 3. It is set to combine the series’ epic storyline with an open-world environment, which the company boasts will be a living world larger than any other in modern RPG history.
