Benchmark reveals 2K display for Samsung Galaxy S5

Rumours about the alleged Galaxy S5 featuring Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels and a pixel density of 560ppi are picking up pace these days. Another report today reveals GFX benchmark listing for a device codenamed SM-G900S, sporting a screen resolution of 1440x2560 pixels (marketing name 2K).

The report hints that the device leaked in the benchmark could be the Galaxy S5. Moreover, the listing also reveals a Snapdragon 800 chipset clocked at 2.4GHz alongside the Adreno 330 GPU. Now, this could be a tad disappointing for users who were expecting the S5 to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805, or a 64-bit version of Samsung's own Exynos chip. Besides, the listing doesn’t reveal any other specifications of the Galaxy S4.

Galaxy S5 to get 2K display

Several reports have been suggesting an early 2014 launch for the S5. In fact, it is believed that Samsung will start mass producing the device in January, for a slated February-March launch. Going by some earlier leaks and rumours, the Galaxy S5 is expected to be fuelled by a 4000mAh battery and run on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Samsung is also said to be working on two tablets featuring AMOLED displays, and one of these tablets is likely to be launched around the same time as S5 launch. It is also speculated that Samsung will launch the next generation Galaxy Gear along with the Galaxy S5.
