BB Curve 9220 spotted online before official announcement

Back in January, an image had surfaced online giving everyone a glimpse of what Research in Motion had in store for them, for the year 2012. The leaked image was the brand’s roadmap in which they portray all the handsets, along with what operating system they will feature. So, it comes as no surprise that during the second quarter of the year, Research in Motion will unveil two handsets namely the BlackBerry Curve 9320 and Curve 9220. These two handsets are yet to be announced across the globe, but as per a listing on Flipkart, the BlackBerry Curve 9220 has made an appearance before schedule.

Curve 9220 leaks online ahead of schedule

In addition to the mere appearance of the Curve 9220, the website has listed the entire specification list of the handset leaving Research in Motion with practically nothing new to unveil, come announcement date. As per the page on the popular online retail website, the upcoming handset is listed as coming soon, but no specific date has been revealed. The highlighted feature of the Curve 9220 is that it will run on the BlackBerry operating system, however no specific version is mentioned. Taking into account previous reports, one can gather that it will run on OS 7.1 like the upcoming Curve 9320, a model which is supposed to debut alongside the Curve 9220. Other main features, include a 2 megapixel primary camera, a 2.44-inch TFT screen, a QWERTY keypad, Wi-Fi, and expandable storage capacity up to 32GB. The other notable mention is that it will come with FM radio, something that has yet to feature on a BlackBerry smartphone.
