Asus has announced price reductions for its entire Zenfone 3 series, which includes the entire Zenfone Max series as well. As expected earlier, the slash in prices follows after the Goods and Services Tax (GST) roll out which came into effect on 1 July. The new consolidated tax reduces the tax burden on domestic mobile manufacturers, which has been seen as a move by the government to boost the manufacturing sector in India. The decrease in tax has led companies to share the benefits to customers by reducing the prices of their smartphones. The slash in prices also takes place before the launch of the company's Zenfone 4 series which is expected soon. The price reduction will take place across online retailers like Flipkart, Amazon, and Snapdeal, as well as retail stores and Asus Exclusive Stores across India. The move also follows Apple's slash in prices for its entire iPhone, iPad and Mac series."Both Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Max series have received an overwhelming response in India, and we are happy to offer a new exciting price for both the models. We are sure that, with this price, both the series will be the best buys in the Indian market," said Peter Chang, Region Head, South Asia & Country Manager, Asus India, speaking to Android Authority.Asus Zenfone 3S Max Review Tech2 (8)The ZenFone 3 (ZE552KL) which was earlier priced at Rs 19,999 gets a price cut of Rs 3,000 and is now starts from Rs 16,999.
