Asus has brought users a lot of really cool devices in the past. The last one up for grabs was the Transformer Book, which the company dubbed the “first convertible notebook”. Now Asus is setting up to introduce a follow up to its Ultrabook series with the Zenbook Infinity Ultrabook, which will be seen at Computex 2013 in Taipei, Taiwan next month.

While Asus is not ready to give out all the details for the next generation Zenbook, it did confirm that the Zenbook Infinity will be offered with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen with "Native Damage Resistance" on the outer lid and around the keyboard.

Asus said this will give the device three times the scratch resistance that Gorilla Glass 2 provides. The company also mentioned in its press release that there will be a 40 percent reduction in the number of highly visible scratches on the ultrabook, as well as a 40 percent improvement in "retained strength" if a deep scratch does occur. The next generation of Asus ultrabooks (photo credit: digitaltrends)

Asus has also said that the device, at 15.5 mm, is 14 percent thinner than the previous generation Zenbook. One of the reasons behind the reduction in dimensions could be the recent shift that most Ultrabooks have had from the traditional hard drive to SSD.

While there are few other details being released about the device right now, Asus has said that it will retain its concentric circle design on the cover. Details about the pricing of the Zenbook Infinity as well as the date of release have still not been released.
